FRNIX Community NewsEditorial of the month
FRNIX presented its 2024 annual report and its 2025 development plan at its Annual General Meeting in early June; I would like to highlight a few key points:- Objectives : FRNIX represents the key players in Internet interconnection in France, and to be effective, we need to grow our community. The more members we have, the more we can support one another and exert influence in France, across Europe and internationally.
- How : FRNIX will develop its value proposition along two lines: new services provided by the association (BGP training courses, with others to follow) and new services provided by France-IX (in our capacity as sole shareholder).
- Next steps : The new Board of Directors that you elected at the AGM is highly motivated and brimming with ideas. We will set all this out in a detailed action plan in September/October, which we will share with you so that we can build on this together.

Why attend a BGP workshop?
Because you never understand something as well as when you’re actually doing it. The BGP workshops, it takes two days to get the full picture: basics, routes, filters, errors, best practice. But above all : concrete cases. And experts to guide you. You’re developing your skills. So are your teams. It’s simple, useful and targeted.
There’s still one place left in Valence at the end of August. The next one will be in Paris in October, and is already half full.

The aim: to establish a European framework for the funding, openness and regulation of digital infrastructure. What now? The European Commission will analyse the feedback before drafting a legislative proposal. This is something to keep a close eye on, particularly for IXPs. Would you like to join a working group to champion the interests of peering?
