As the tide rises, everyone tries to channel the water, guide it and slow it down. But sooner or later, the waves reassert themselves and sweep away even the finest structures.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"font-family: Lato, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.6; color: #1e3f70; margin: 0 0 12px;\">This natural phenomenon, which can be channelled to a limited extent but never fully controlled, is reminiscent of the nature of internet traffic: unpredictable and constantly evolving. The network infrastructures that FRNIX members are building are subject to forces beyond their control: \u201cpermissionless\u201d technological innovation and changes in user behaviour. Just as when faced with the ocean, we must show humility and flexibility.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"font-family: Lato, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.6; color: #1e3f70; margin: 0 0 12px;\">That is why we focus our efforts on what we do best: building, maintaining and improving robust infrastructure, whilst anticipating changes and adapting to them. Just like the sandcastle builders on the beach in August, we know that our role is not to control the flow, but to support, channel and protect.
