Do also make a note of our upcoming events and essential workshops.<\/p>\r\n<h2 style=\"font-family: Cabin, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 22px; line-height: 1.25; margin: 0 0 10px; color: #00a0ff;\">Editorial by<br><em><a style=\"color: #00a0ff;\" title=\"Pierre-Olivier Lompr\u00e9\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/pierreolivierlompre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pierre-Olivier Lompr\u00e9<\/a>, FRNIX Director<\/em><\/h2>\r\n\r\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\">That\u2019s it, 2026 is off and running!<\/p>\r\n<p>The FRNIX board is more committed than ever to representing the community\u2019s views, overseeing the FRNIX team on a day-to-day basis and ensuring that France\u2011IX, together with Franck and his teams, makes progress in<strong> the strategic framework set out by the association<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<p>In 2025, the success of the workshops and aPEERos demonstrated our community\u2019s interest in maintaining a <strong>a setting that encourages interaction and a friendly atmosphere<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<p>Back in 1998, when I was a young network engineer at Club-Internet (A long time ago in a far-off galaxy \ud83d\ude03), the name ARPANET rang in my ears and those of my colleagues as the forerunner of the Internet, created so that\u2026'<strong>a country should never be isolated and prevented from communicating<\/strong>. Unfortunately, recent events show that internet censorship still exists in 2026, both through a complete cut-off of terrestrial connections and through the jamming of satellite connections. This demonstrates once again <strong>the importance of interconnecting our IP networks,<\/strong> thereby enabling a<strong> internet resilience<\/strong> in the event of any criminal offence.<\/p>\r\n<p>Now in its 15th year, France-IX has demonstrated its ability to act as the leading player in IP interconnection in France.<\/p>\r\n<p>I'<strong>encourages our community more than ever <\/strong>to continue rolling out our networks and resources in order to continually strengthen this technical infrastructure, upon which, year on year, an ever-increasing number of new services essential to our daily lives are built.<\/p>\r\n<p>See you very soon at an aPEERo!&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2 style=\"font-family: Cabin, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 22px; line-height: 1.25; margin: 0 0 10px; color: #00a0ff;\">Over to our members:<br><em><a style=\"color: #00a0ff;\" title=\"Justin Briard\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/jbriard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Justin Briard<\/a>, Chief Technical Officer - <a style=\"color: #00a0ff;\" title=\"Datalok\" href=\"https:\/\/www.datalok.io\/fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Datalok<\/a><\/em><\/h2>\r\n<p><strong><em><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right;\" src=\"https:\/\/frnix.fazacrm.com\/uploads\/frnix\/2026\/justin_briard_datalok.jpeg\" alt=\"Justin Briard \u2013 CTO \u2013 Datalok\" width=\"189\" height=\"189\">As a participant in the first meeting of the 'Governance &amp; Strategy' Working Group, what motivated you to join this initiative, and what are your initial impressions?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>My first impression was one of slight apprehension. I hardly knew any of the members, and I don\u2019t come from a networking background; my background is in the cloud, infrastructure and architecture.<br>The main reason I joined this working group was that I wanted to <strong>share my experience<\/strong> on various topics, in particular digital sovereignty.<br>And then there\u2019s curiosity, too. Take CSR, for example \u2013 so far, I\u2019ve only ever approached it from a \"user\" perspective in my jobs. I\u2019d really like to explore the environmental aspect in more detail and understand<strong> the challenges facing operators and infrastructure providers<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong><em>From that very first meeting, what was the most memorable point or the most relevant discussion for Datalok?&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>The most striking aspect \u2013 and, in fact, there are several: the diversity of the participants, the good humour of those present, and this <strong>a collective desire to build<\/strong> do something together.<br>I think this sort of group is an ideal place to share viewpoints which, I am convinced, will not always be in line with one another. And that is precisely where the value lies: in being able to discuss and understand everyone\u2019s different interests, in order to<strong> to develop a shared vision<\/strong>.<br>The benefit for Datalok is that we gain a better understanding of our partners, and<strong> to champion a vision<\/strong> French and European associations and government bodies to promote our technical ecosystem.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong><em>What message would you like to convey to other members who have not yet joined the working groups, and what are your expectations for the next stages of the 'Governance &amp; Strategy' group?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>The message is simple: don\u2019t be afraid to come along. Yes, it can be a bit daunting at first. But everyone here is here to chat and share their experiences and views.
